What will September Bring?

by adamsafire on September 1, 2010

Apple has their September 1st  event tomorrow at 1o:00 PDT. There are many rumors about new products and services that will be announced at the event. For the first time Apple has decided to live stream the event.  There are supposed to be new iPods Nano’s and Touch’s.  The renamed Apple TV is supposed to relaunch with a $99 price tag and iOS. There are supposedly deals with television content providers to make the device compete with pay TV providers.

I am not really sure what to expect. Most of the fun with Apple being so secretive is that their announcements allow our imaginations and expectations to run wild.  I guess based on the all the images of the Nano cases that there will be a new square iPod Nano that may run iOS and have a touch screen.

The Nano does not seem to run iOS

I expect the Touch will have FaceTime capability with two cameras with the potential to be used as a VOIP application,  function as a HD video recorder, and have the same processing platform and Retina display as the iPhone 4 at the same price point.

I was right on the features on the new iPod Touch but with all the rumors and other indicators wasn’t hard to guess.

The iTV is still pretty vague but I am hoping for the following: $99 price tag, additional capabilities for the existing Apple TV’s, A4 processor based platform running iOS, an updated Remote app that controls iTV and doubles a gaming console for the games on the system, I am not sold that all the pricing will be worked out yet easy access to TV shows and live events would be awesome.

iOS 4.x will be released for the iPad.

I was wrong it wasn’t released but at least the road map was announced.

I expect an announcement about an hardware update for the iPhone 4. I expect it will be downplayed as to the reason but nonetheless I think it will happen.

Hopefully, we will be surprised pleasantly by a few things as well.
